Lakes by Yoo

An escapist is someone who doesn’t live in the real world, but dreams, wishes and fantasizes instead. However, what if we told you that we know somewhere that could make your Escapism dreams come to life? Welcome to Lakes by Yoo – the most ideal escape from the city.

Set in the Cotswolds with 850 acres of lakes, meadows and ancient woodland, this private estate of contemporary 4, 5 and 6 bedroom lakeside and woodland cabins welcomes you to the most enchanting retreat. The style has sprung from the design collective Yoo Studio co-founded by Phillippe Starck, which combine sustainable modern interior with pure comfort and a twist of avant-garde, creating an idyllic sanctuary.

There’s all you need to relax, unwind and refresh at the Lakes, from dipping into the pool of the award-winning Orchard Spa to partaking in a mindful yoga class amongst the ambiance of the Cotswolds. Take a deep breath and exhale overlooking the panoramic views across Clear Water Lake whilst your toes are dipped in the glorious 17-metre heated pool. Fitness fanatics will love the gym with Matrix equipment and kinesis wall, with plenty of opportunities for boxercise, TRX workouts and yoga classes. With two treatment rooms, an express manicure bar and spacious club room, The Orchard is a divine-smelling destination spa that you can easily spend all day in.

Come alone or with loved ones - this retreat is suitable for guests of all ages as there is a wealth of activities to indulge in, such as archery for the little ones or zip-lining for the adrenaline junkies! In the summer months, there are many lake-based activities to enjoy; paddle-boarding, canoeing and sailing to name a few. Keeping fit during your stay at the Lakes is more than achievable with personal training options, tennis courts and woodland walks on your doorstep.

For the foodies out there, you won’t be disappointed. Elsa’s Restaurant offers a ‘pizza night’ on Friday and Saturday evenings from February and throughout the glorious Summer months and boasts scrummy breakfast and lunch options year-round. It’s got a cute pop-up vibe and shines a tractor headlight on local produce – we can’t knock this Alfresco diner!

Our top tip? Make your stay bespoke by enjoying the luxury of private catering within your cabin. The chefs represent an edit of the finest within the area, with backgrounds ranging from top-notch boutique restaurants to award-winning deli, the evening will be nothing short of extraordinary.

So, we hear you… “when should we go”? There is no ‘best’ time to stay at the Lakes, whether it be in winter and you’re cosied up by the outdoor fireplace or it’s summer and you’re picnicking under the sun - you will have the ultimate experience. Here at YES, we believe this dreamy property would be ideal for small, private management meetings, team building, a one-of-a-kind offsite dinner or an exclusive family trip away. Stay tuned for our next post for the Escapism Away Edition.
